Battle of Winterfell - Alternative Endings
So disappointed in the "Battle of Winterfell" episode of Game of Thrones. Here are 10 things that I thought of in the past 10 minutes that they could have done.
1) Alternative Ending #1: The Night King walks towards bran (bran wargs into the wolf, Night King kills wolf, drinks it blood or something gross and ominously points at Bran). Night king gets closer, The Hound jumps from the tree and the Night King has to grab him with both hands, kills him instantly. Than the Night King’s main lieutenant, stabs him in the side. All the bad guys die. The lieutenant rips off his face and its Arya (who has the ability to do that) and Bran says “I was not expecting that!” End episode.
2) Either Sansa should have pushed Tyrion in front of herself in the crypt, or Tyrion should have tried to sacrifice himself for her, either would have made their relationship more interesting.
3) Sansa should have had to fight against her dead father, or bother, or mother, or something
4) Alternative Ending #2: The Night King approaches Bran (who has eyes closed), but his three-eyes raven is looking for something and it finds it in the darkness. Out of nowhere, Rhaegal (who has been taken over by Bran) flies in and stabs the Night King though the chest with one of his spikes (if Dragon glass can kill him, why can't dragon spikes)
5) Not sacrifice the Dothraki for no strategic reason. What a waste.
6) Have the "Lord of Light" light up the entire sky. The entire episode was almost impossible to watch because everything was so dark. It is a fantasy show, they can do whatever they want, so just set the sky on fire.
7) Of course, have more characters die in battle. It is just ridiculous to think that the dead would send 5 walkers at a time against each person, while the others just dilly-dallied. No matter how good the fighters are, it was just dumb (especially for those who weren't great soldiers, or only had one hand). If they all needed to live, they have the locked inside a room.
8) Have Tyrion invent a new weapon, like a dragonglass Gatling gun.
9) Alternative Ending #3. Cliff Hanger. Night King and Bran come face to face. Night King speaks something interested ("Good Bye Brother", "Death has many faces", "You are not the prince who was promised", "Where is she?", "Join me", etc.). End episode.
10) Have the Hound cry more, like a baby, hiding in a corner. He didn't need to be a hero, having him be a coward would have been more interesting (with interesting repercussions).
There are literally hundreds of ideas that could have made this episode more interesting and watchable. Perhaps the writers were so set on this being a secret that they didn't get enough feedback.
